Deadbolt
The Nuki Smart Lock (Deadbolt) mounts on the inside of a compatible existing single-cylinder deadbolt. The existing deadbolt remains in place and the existing physical key continues to work from outside.

Euro cylinder
With the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra (Euro Profile), the existing Euro cylinder is replaced with the included Nuki Universal Cylinder. Physical key access remains available using the keys supplied with the universal cylinder.

Do I have a deadbolt or a Euro cylinder?
The Nuki Smart Lock (Deadbolt) fits a compatible single-cylinder deadbolt, the common lock across North America. The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra (Euro Profile) replaces a Euro profile cylinder, the lock used on HELT entrance doors. If you are not sure which you have, send photos of both sides of your lock to info@helt.ca and we will confirm it.
Will I lose my physical key?
It depends on your lock. With the Nuki Smart Lock (Deadbolt), your deadbolt stays in place and your current key keeps working from outside. With the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra (Euro Profile), your cylinder is replaced by the included Nuki Universal Cylinder, which comes with three keys. Your old key stops working, and you can keep the original cylinder to refit later.
What happens when the battery runs out?
If the battery runs flat, you can still open the door with a physical key: your existing key with the Nuki Smart Lock (Deadbolt), or the keys supplied with the Universal Cylinder with the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra (Euro Profile).
Do I need a keypad, or is the lock enough?
The lock gives you access from your phone. A keypad gives access to everyone else: a child home at three, a cleaner every Tuesday, a parent who does not use a smartphone. They need no app, no phone and no key, just six digits.
Which keypad should I choose?
Keypad: a 6-digit PIN. Keypad 2: adds fingerprint, with up to 200 codes and 20 fingerprints. Keypad 2 NFC: adds Tap to Unlock, with up to 200 codes, 20 fingerprints and 35 Tap to Unlock permissions. All three work with both the Nuki Smart Lock (Deadbolt) and the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra (Euro Profile).
